High degree of shapability due to the molecular design The dual character of ORMOCER®s as inorganic-organic copolymers allows for the definition of many different processing parameters without constraining the possible scope of the product's anticipated properties. Material and shape created in a single process Our goal is to offer new material classes in combination with modern plastic technology processing methods, in order to provide our customers with a highly product-oriented starting point for the realization of their specific needs. One example of this is the development of a hollow fiber spinning process for ORMOCER®s. New duroplastic molding materials for injection molding The use of thermal starters made it possible to utilize advanced shaping methods of the plastics technology for molding these new duroplastic materials. The production of ORMOCER® systems as solvent-free resins or resin/particle/fiber composites constitutes an important milestone in this development. Our partner, Krauss-Maffei Kunststofftechnik GmbH, is a competent manufacturer of industrial machines with decades of experience in the field of duroplastic injection molding.
